Created in 1992, Certex is a non-profit social economy enterprise, a charitable organization, and a member of the Québec network of sheltered work centres. We recover and recycle clothing, shoes and used textiles.

Our two-fold mission: To protect the environment by operating a recovery and recycling centre while creating a workplace conducive to the socio-professional integration of people with functional limitations.

Certex has the following objectives:

	To create and maintain employment for disabled people.
	To protect the environment by recycling clothing, shoes and used textiles, and so contribute to reducing the volume of residual textile materials sent to landfill sites.
	To raise the public’s awareness of the positive contributions made by people with functional limitations.
	To raise the public’s awareness of environmental values promoting environmental protection activities and achieving sustainable development.
